View Vacancy - Press and Public Affairs Support Officer (CZE18.300)
The British Embassy in Czech Republic is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are now looking for a Press and Public Affairs Support Officer to join us.
The main purpose of the job is to provide support in press engagement and digital content across the Embassy in political, trade, defence, consular areas.
Roles and responsibilities:
planning PR campaigns and strategies based on research.
monitoring and reacting to the public and media's opinion of HM Government.
writing and editing press releases, speeches, newsletters, leaflets, brochures and websites.
creating content on social media and responding quickly to user comments.
arranging and attending events like press launches, news conferences, exhibitions and open days.
arranging photoshoots and production of promotional videos.
developing good working relationships with the media to promote HM Government’s interests.
public speaking at presentations, conferences or radio and TV interviews.
you may also be involved with the British expatriate community to facilitate contact with the Embassy; this could include events.
fluent English and Czech, oral and written.
excellent writing skills.
confident communication and presentation skills.
creativity and initiative.
strong organisational and time-management skills.
the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
higher national diploma or degree in any subject.
experience gained from an internship or relevant voluntary work.
experience in areas like journalism, advertising, marketing or fundraising.
experience as project administrator, publicity assistant, information officer.
the ability to analyse data.
IT skills.
This is a full-time position and maternity leave cover contract.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance. The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation for the Czech Republic in order to apply.
