Driver / Messenger, Reception

Receptionist Function

-       Handle the Embassy switchboard and telephone queries, courteously and effectively


-       Facilitate visitors’ access to the Embassy


-       Monitor Embassy e-mail enquiries and distribute messages accordingly


Corporate Services Assistant

-       Provide general administrative support


-       Assist with overseeing day-to-day maintenance issues within the Embassy


-       Act as requisitioner for Embassy purchases and input relevant information as necessary


-       Provide ad hoc translation support to staff


Driver

-       Act as reserve driver for the Ambassador. This often involves working beyond normal working hours and occasionally at weekends.



Essential on arrival:


-       Clean driving record and up to date B1 driving license


-       Focused on customer service with excellent telephone manner


-       Well presented, courteous and approachable


-       High level of organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi task


-       Able to work under pressure


-       Able to work after hours – evenings and weekends if needed


-       Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point


-       Basic accounting skills


-       Committed to hard work and continual learning


Previous experience in a similar role

The successful candidate will be required to complete mandatory courses, including online, for Corporate Services functions. On the job training will be provided, including on expected driving standards. An individual learning and development plan will be agreed with the successful candidate to reflect agreed objectives.
