Main purpose of job:

Project management and oversight of Defence Section training, projects and courses.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Manage the Defence English Language Training Project provided to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and delivered by the British Council. 
  • Liaison with SAF, British Council, OGD and others as required.
  • Promote the success of the project to OGD’s.
  • Seek opportunities to improve ELT in Sudan.
  • Prepare SAF officers for UK and international courses.
  • Provide in-country assistance for UK MOD courses delivered in country. 
  • Manage the Alumni database. 
  • Provide full office support to maintain smooth running of the Defence Section including: Planning and booking of travel; Logistic and secretarial support to Defence Attaché’s meetings with visitors to the section; Arranging of Defence functions within budget.  This includes the booking of caterers, preparation of location, completion of invitations and payment of staff and suppliers; Maintain and improve office filing system (paper and electronic).
  • Provide cover for the Assistant to the Defence Attaché in his absence. 
  • Other duties as required and directed by Defence Attaché or Assistant
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Relevant background in either project work and training administration
  • Computer literate.
