Main purpose of job:

Job holder will be appointed as Handyman at the Estates department with basic knowledge of carpentry works to carry out refurbishment and repair works for all on and off compound properties.

Roles and responsibilities:

To execute work requests timely based on the nature of the work and as per priority and time. This will include repairs and fixing of curtain tracks and rods, roller and roman blinds, to check and repair furniture items such as drawer channels, locks etc. To ensure that all work requests are promptly closed as soon as the work is completed. Basic carpentry knowledge is necessary and should know how to use carpentry tools for all sorts of repair works.

To assist in refurbishment works by collecting of furniture at properties prior to painting and electrical works and resetting it prior to arrival of the occupant. Repairing and polishing of furniture wherever required. Re-fixing of headboards, putting up of mirrors and medicine cabinets as per specified height. To thoroughly check the property for any works to be done before handing over. Every furniture item to be checked for defects and repaired promptly. 

Stock taking and Disposal: Periodically setting up of stores and preparing inventory of furniture and miscellaneous items. Making list of items for disposal through auction and noting the bar codes. This includes taking inventories of furniture and furnishings at various properties for updating on the system.

To assist in moving of furniture and furnishing items, setting up of offices and residential properties as per plans provided or as per available space. Segregating and moving of old and redundant furniture and furnishings for auction and maintaining a clean store.

Resources managed:

To work alongside another Handy man. Necessary tools and equipment and staff uniform will be provided.

Language requirements:

Language: Hindi and English

Level of language required: Good command on Hindi and able to communicate in English.

Learning and development opportunities:

Tarining on spoken english and communication skills.

Carpentry skills, Knowledge of furniture and fittings.

Basic Carpentry skills.
