The British Embassy in Moscow is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for a Digital Campaigns Editor.

The successful candidate will develop and execute high quality, engaging digital communications campaigns in English and Russian, in support of Embassy objectives in Russia and across the region.

This job requires political awareness, a strategic approach and creative thinking to turn goals into compelling content and campaigns for our target audiences.

The Digital Campaigns Editor will have proven digital campaigns management experience with the ability to oversee the development of digital content (video, graphics, etc.), plan and deliver campaigns (including through external partners) and direct improved performance across the Embassy’s digital channels.

The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Head of Communication of British Embassy in Moscow, and will work closely with London and regional colleagues.

Roles and responsibilities:

Digital campaigns creation

  • Working with colleagues in the UK, Russia and the region, create, design and oversee delivery of multichannel digital campaigns (mid-term and long-term) in support of FCO strategic objectives, tailored to local needs across Russia;
  • Supervise the work of the Digital Content Manager in developing high-quality original Russian language digital content including graphics, photography, videos and other short form content;

  • Advise senior colleagues in the Embassy and relevant teams in London on communications campaigns and the most effective delivery methods across digital channels in Russia;

  • Review, recommend adjustments to and deliver a revised UKinRussia brand on digital channels, ensuring consistency of voice and quality across digital brands.

Strategic communications development

  • Work closely with the wider comms team to ensure that digital elements are integrated into wider communication campaigns; pro-actively identify opportunities to combine digital and traditional comms;
  • Support strategic communications by translate complex messages into simple and effective digital campaigns relevant to the target audience(s) across Russia;
  • Produce accessible evaluation reports on communication campaigns.

Procurement

  • Manage external agencies/contractors (as required) using Embassy’s contracting procedures and ensuring value for money;
  • Other duties deemed operationally necessary by Line Manager or Head of Section.
  • Fluent spoken and written Russian and English;
  • Ability to create new ideas and campaigns to convey complex information in a straightforward, interesting and engaging manner;

  • Substantial experience of producing high quality digital content for social media, including experience of creating graphics including moving graphics using Adobe After Effects / Illustrator / Photoshop (or similar package) and familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut X Pro);

  • Strong understanding of Russian-language media/digital landscape, trends in content production & social media;

  • Must be familiar with domestic political landscape, including on current affairs and foreign policy;

  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders. Able to present to, and gain the confidence of senior interlocutors;

  • Strong technical skills in operating video/photo equipment;

  • Experience in campaign evaluation and metrics;

  • Excellent face-to-face communications skills;

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong previous experience of video production;

  • Previous experience in managing external agencies/contractors, setting out technical projects in clear & professional manner.

This is a full-time permanent contract, for 5 working days, 35 hours net per week.

All applicants  should have a pre-existing legal status to live and work in Russia. The British Embassy does not facilitate/sponsor visa applications and work permits.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Russia is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Russian employment law.

The monthly salary for this position is Rub 133,489 gross, C4 (L) level, paid 13 times a year.
