The British Embassy in Ankara is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to hire a Security Guard.

We expect our security guards to set an example in respecting British Embassy in Ankara internal procedures as well as the law and display a pleasant and professional demeanour at all times.

This role will include shift and weekend working.

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Responsible overall security of Embassy compound, School, RLC area, DHM Residence and Lower compound .Checking occurrence book and patrol records;
  • Carry out duties in consultation with the PSM. In charge of all visit to the (Reception, Dinner, Cocktail parties and other functions);
  • Prior to VIP visits, provide necessary security arrangements with PSM and arrange meetings with other security organisations;
  • To liaise between Embassy, UK Based Staff and the Alarm Company and also train UK Based staff usage of alarm system;
  • Check for the letters bags parcels delivered to the Embassy;
  • Clocking rounds;
  • Search vehicles and visitors;
  • Monitoring CCTV;
  • Access Control of the visitors and staff;
  • Physically control around of the Embassy.
  • High school diploma;
  • Hold a valid Security Certificate 5188;
  • Minimum 3 years of Security background;
  • Good English communication skills;
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both oral and written.
  • Clean and valid Turkish Driver's License.

This is a full-time permanent contract for 36.75 hours net per week. 

The monthly salary for this position is 817.18 USD gross (plus shift allowance 142.67 USD), paid in 12 instalments, S2 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law. 

All applicants should have the right to live and work in Turkey. The British Embassy does not sponsor for work permits. 

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of 2 months. 

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Ankara are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Turkish employment law.
