View Vacancy - Senior Commercial Officer (BGR19.541)
The British Embassy in Sofia is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Senior Commercial Officer to contribute to the delivery of the Department for International Trade (DIT) Europe Regional Trade Plan by supporting UK companies to do business in Bulgaria.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic campaigns based on specific market opportunities in selected sectors, engage UK companies on these opportunities and ultimately support them to win business in Bulgaria
Collaborate effectively with DIT colleagues across the CEE region and in the UK on regional strategic campaigns and trade promotion events
Develop high-level contacts with key stakeholders in relevant Government institutions, trade associations and the business community, both in Bulgaria and the UK;
Help to resolve barriers to business and market access issues for specific UK companies
Develop and manage visit programmes for UK trade delegations and individual companies;
Record activity on the DIT CRM system
A strong knowledge of the business environment in Bulgaria and understanding of the UK business environment;
Ability to develop and maintain contacts in both the public and private sectors;
Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work in team;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Bulgarian;
University graduate, preferably in business, management or marketing;
Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
Experience in trade promotion and business development;
- Good organisational/presentation skills
This is a full-time position (36 hours per week) for a temporary appointment of 24 months.
Monthly salary for this position is BGN 2463.97 gross, payable 13 times a year.
The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance. Anyone with right of residence and employment in Bulgaria may apply, including all EU/EEA citizens and the family members of EU/EEA nationals exercising a treaty right in Bulgaria.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy are subject to terms and conditions service according to Bulgarian employment law.
Visa / Passport requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Bulgaria and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract. Additional requirements may become necessary pending EU Exit. If requirements change additional eligibility information will be shared during the recruitment process.
