The British Embassy Algiers currently has a vacancy for a Migration Returns Liaison Officer, job grade C4 (L).

The jobholder will be working for the Home Office Immigration Enforcement to provide verification on potential Algerian returnees.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Verify information provided by the Home Office in relation to potential returnees, including undertaking telephone interviews with potential returnees in French and Arabic to obtain further data and feedback to Home Office colleagues as part of the emergency travel document application process, providing quarterly reports to Immigration Enforcement Returns Logistics Team 1.Lead on migration related issues, particularly with regard to UKs policy on illegal migration;

• Maintain and develop a useful network of contacts with key players in Algeria, and represent the Embassy/Home Office at local meetings in order to support Home Office returns;

• Report on regional migration trends where there is an impact on returns

• Fluent in Arabic, both written and spoken.

Remuneration, working hours and other benefits:

The Embassy offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package for the role, including: net salary of 168,767.95 DZD per month; 25 days paid leave annually along with up to 14 days paid public holidays.

The confidential nature of the work requires and the work must be carried out at the Embassy. Conditioned working hours are 37.5 hours per week. Normal working hours are 08:00 – 15:30 Sunday to Thursday.

Process:
