The Regional HR Hub provides key HR Services (recruitment, pay and reward, talent and performance management and HR enquiries) to customers across the region and to provide a strategic and professional HR capability to support Senior Leaders in delivery of business of objectives. The HR hub forms an integral part of the global HR offer to staff working in the overseas network for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and will lead on all region specific HR issues in collaboration with the London based HR Directorate.

 

The Regional Recruitment Officer will deliver recruitment campaigns for local staff working at British Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates located in the Asia Pacific Region. The jobholder will ensure effective and efficient solutions by delivering quality and timely service within the framework of the regional recruitment process. The role reports to the Recruitment Manager for the APAC region.

 

What will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

 

  • Manage full cycle recruitment campaigns for a wide range of positions in Asia Pacific, deliver professional services and outputs in line with agreed standards, SLAs, KPIs and the Foreign and Commonwealth (FCO) recruitment model. Enforce the standardised process, while balancing the execution with a service-oriented perspective.

 

  • Partner with overseas FCO posts: (1) With Corporate Service Managers/Post HR counterparts in providing recruitment services to ensure a professional recruitment support and advise for hiring managers through all stages of the process; (2) With hiring managers to have a thorough understanding of the vacancy and the requirements for a successful recruitment campaign, translating this to recruitment actions and output such as advertisements, shortlist based on the agreed sift criteria and other support functions.

 

  • Manage all other practicalities of regional recruitment such as: posting on various advertising channels or recruitment platforms, reference checks, providing necessary reports, managing suppliers and payments.

 

  • Manage mailboxes and shared folders, and administer other recruitment systems, tools and requirements according to agreed standards to ensure that records are accurate and in order, and capture critical information about the campaign and process.

 

  • Support the employee induction process.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years relevant work experience in recruitment
  • Fluency in both oral and written English
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • High detail-orientation, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work with people at all levels in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential employee issues and information and interact with employees in a professional and sensitive manner at all times
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Experience in using applicant tracking systems
  • Experience of working in an international organisation and/or public sector
  • Recruitment experience in Asia specifically China, Singapore and Australia
  • Experience in headhunting for specialised roles
