View Vacancy - Post Transport & Security Manager
Main purpose of job:
• Lead on Estates physical Security (Office building, Residence and properties); and Staff, family and dependants safety as per FCO Security guidelines and regulations. Ensure proper security arrangements for demonstrations; collating security information; updating security instructions in line with FCO Security Guidance. Assist PSO and ROSM. Investigation and reporting of security-related incidents.
• Supervise and manage (1) driver, who will be in charge of all errands as well as supporting all departments in the day-to-day logistics.
• Lead the day-to-day Fire Safety management.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
• Lead the Regional Security Visit, including logistics of the visit.
• Ensure constant and proper liaising with Embassy´s building administration to ensure emergency drills are conducted, liaising with local fire brigade and Embassy´s fire wardens and Fire Security Manager.
• Ensure new Staff at Post read and sign the Post Security Regulations.
• In charge of Private Security Guards at Post (i.e.: guarding arrangements, ROE, daily duties, chain in command, etc.).
• Stablish proper network relationship with Local authorities, such as Diplomatic Police to ensure proper services are provided at the Embassy and Residence.
• Lead Security Clearances for all new local staff at Post.
• Supervise and manage all transportation requests from post as support to all teams.
• Act as fire safety manager for the post, leading on all preventive activities as well as leading fire wardens, and drills.
• Maintain accurate fuel records for official fleet and work with Finance Officer to manage tax-free fuel process for diplomatic staff
• Provide support to wider Corporate Services Team as needed.

The successful candidate must be Panamanian, or have a valid and current Work Permit through Ministry of Labour, and be able to provide it when requested by Embassy. The British Embassy – Panama City does not sponsor work permits. Office hours in the embassy are 8am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-1pm on Fridays, though there is scope for flexible working arrangements, which can be agreed with the Line Manager. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
