Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (Residence and Support Staff)
Driver / Messenger

  • Provide transportation services to all levels of Diplomatic, Military and VIP personnel.
  • Maintain daily journey records.
  • Deputise for Transport Manager when required.
  • Full compliance with Embassy Transport policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • A minimum of 6 years driving experience is required. Experience in driving Diplomatic, Military or VIP personnel would be welcomed.
  • Good customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Basic administration/IT skills (data entry, internet research, email and scheduling software).
  • Must have an impeccable driving record and hold clean driving licence.
  • Must be flexible with working hours (shift working).
  • Must be a good team worker.
  • Knowledge of the New York area.

The British Embassy Network offers a strong benefits package. For this position more specifically, applicants have the opportunity to recieve advanced driver training and first aid training.
