Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

To be successful you will:

Market Access & Policy Advocacy: Engage with UK companies to identify and prioritise key market access and policy issues; and ensure that these priorities are addressed to the extent possible, by working with other UK Government Departments and Programmes – and by working with the Government of India. As a representative of the UK Government, you will need to project credibility and have the ability to influence and lobby to achieve your goals. You will deal with incoming reactive work and input to wider corporate objectives especially around Ministerial/VIP visits including the preparation of high-quality, “Minister-ready” briefing and speeches.

Campaign Leadership and Management: You will be responsible for translating this above into a coherent set of marketing and events to deliver the highest possible commercial outcomes for UK companies.  You will provide day-to-day leadership to your team and manage their activities ensuring team members are properly tasked and that activities and events (including business delegations) supporting campaigns are delivered effectively. You will control sector budgets and deliver effective performance reporting on sector activity.  You will use project management techniques to drive team activity and to ensure high value for money for the UK taxpayer

Qualifications: Graduate/post graduate. Candidates without the required educational qualifications but with exceptional practical experience will be considered.
