Trade and Investment is at the very heart of HMG policy. The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) helps British businesses to export and support inward and outward investment.
The British Embassy Manila is at the forefront of promoting bilateral trade and investment between the United Kingdom and the Philippines. As part of our dynamic team, the trade intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of UK-Philippine relations, specifically focusing on the technology, healthcare and infrastructure sectors as well as Market Access and Trade Policy but will be able to support wider sector portfolio of DBT Manila . The trade intern position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a diplomatic setting while actively supporting initiatives such as London Tech Week, the King's Birthday Party, Indo Pacific Roadshow among others. We are looking for one Trade and Communications Intern reporting directly to the Trade Manager for Technology and Strategic Communications. This is being advertised as a full time internship for six (6) months, with a stipend of PhP 10,500 per month.
Working Patterns:
There can be some flexibility in the work pattern. The intern may be required to work beyond normal office hours during the conduct of trade and investment related events organised by DBT/British Embassy.

Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy Manila is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Philippine employment law.
No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. All candidates must be legally able to work and reside in the country of the vacancy with the correct visa/work permit status or demonstrate eligibility to obtain the relevant permit. Any costs related to obtaining or renewing permits and visas are the responsibility of the successful applicant.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
