View Vacancy - IT and Administrative Support Officer (CHEB18.751)
The British Embassy in Berne is changing, developing and opening opportunities for enthusiastic persons to join our expanding Corporate Services Team. Currently we are seeking an IT and Administrative support officer who can take on a range of tasks across the Embassy and for all Government Partners working together within the Embassy.
The ideal person would be up-to-date with modern IT platforms and software, with a particular focus on Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, Android and Apple IOS and be excited by how these systems can be taught, used and optimised to maximise efficiency and productivity.
You should have a can-do attitude and oriented towards providing a supportive and friendly service to colleagues of all levels. In addition to this, you should also be well organised and able to take on a range of administrative roles within the Corporate Services team, associated with your role, and enabling staff across the embassy to benefit from more integrated communications and better-managed information. You will also assist where needed with the planning and set-up of Embassy events.
Main duties and responsibilities:
You will act as first point of contact for users of IT helping them to get the most out of the hardware and software provided, by administering user accounts, assist with; troubleshooting IT issues, and support Post Security with IT systems;
Assist Corporate Services with administrative work and provide support to IT users across the embassy with existing and developing hardware and software platforms;
Provide work-shops and training sessions to help users become more confident with the hardware and software tools made available to them.
- Broad knowledge of IT Systems Administration and experience of work in a similar environment or similar role;
Proven ability with Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, Android and Apple IOS;
Very good, proven organisational skills;
Excellent communication skills across all levels;
Pro-active, using one’s own initiative to find solutions and responsive to changing priorities;
Excellent command of English and German languages.
This is a permanent, full-time contract of 40 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance.
The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation for Switzerland in order to apply.
