Main purpose of job:

Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Chevening scholars are provided with full funding to study a Master’s course at a university in the UK. Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders and influencers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.

Chevening is expanding year by year and with the growth of the numbers of scholarships offered and the increasing activity of the Alumni Association we are looking for additional support.

If you’re interested in British education and development and want to learn more about British diplomacy and the work of the British Embassy this is an excellent opportunity to get involved.  Alongside delivering the Chevening programme you will have chance to work with different teams at the British Embassy and network with Chevening alumni - an elite group of excellent individuals. You will have the opportunity to develop a range of skills and experience.

Roles and Reponsibilities:

Chevening programme logistic supports: included but is not limited to Chevening interview logistics, assisting with alumni events under the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund, event organisation including Welcome Home events, and marketing activities – working closely with Chevening Officer and Programmes Support Officer.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Proven experience of event management
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and multi-task effectively
  • Good team-working skills and the ability to develop productive relationships with other teams around the Embassy and network
  • Relevant qualification and/or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with UK culture
  • Basic design skills
