The British Embassy in Lisbon is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for an intern to join until the end of March 2018.

The role of the intern is to assist the Human Resources Hub Team in the Regional Corporate Services Hub based in Lisbon by providing administrative/clerical support in HR Hub activities.

We are looking for an individual who has good interpersonal skills, experience, proactive approach to organising the working plan and contribute with ideas and ways of ensuring a high quality result.

The successful candidate needs to be highly motivated, flexible and know how to prioritise accordingly. The job-holder will need to be fluent in English and Portuguese, with the ability to work with people at all levels in a fast paced environment.

Main roles and responsibilities:

HR Advisory

• Support on transactional tasks;
• Produce Management Information Reports (MI);
• Keep database updated, ensure relevant data capturing, recording and accuracy;
• Upload documents on Sharepoint.

Recruitment

• Open recruitment processes in the system;
• Schedule interviews;
• Check Job Applications inbox and answer to enquiries;
• Produce Recruitment MI.

Pay & Benefits

• Keep databases and relevant spreadsheets updated;
• Ensure database accuracy, implement changes and produce reports;
• Produce Excel tables, graphs and other outputs of KPI’s and metric reports;
• Check data and prepare materials to presentations.


• Degree in Human Resources or related field;
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Portuguese;
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• A team player, able to work with colleagues at all levels;
• Manage time effectively under own direction and prioritise tasks;
• Ability to deliver results;
• Ability to respond flexibly and creatively;
• Good IT skills: Microsoft Office tools, particularly with Excel Spreadsheet.

This is a full-time internship contract until the end of March 2018, for 5 working days (35 hours net) per week.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance and must have pre-existing work authorisation for Portugal in order to apply.
