Mechanic

Main purpose of job:

The main purpose of this position is to repair and service British Deputy High Commission vehicle fleet with regard to manufacturer specification.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:    

  • Inspect vehicles to identify electrical faults
  • Repair and replace parts in line with manufacturer specifications
  • Inspect / repair electrical faults on the mission’s watercraft (boats)
  • Servicing of BDHC fleet of vehicles
  • Assist mechanics in repair works
  • Cover for Air Conditioning technician
  • Ensure that job sheet and all documentation are properly completed as applicable for all jobs
  • Carry out road test of repaired vehicles and ensure its roadworthiness before collection
  • Comply   with all HSE rules Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the workshop manager
  • Not less than 5 years experience in a reputable automobile workshop;
  • Federal Ministry of Labour Trade Test Certificate class one or two.
  • Applicants should be able to use diagnostic machine / computers.
  • Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering
