The British Embassy in Quito is looking for two (2) interns to be part of our team.  Both interns will support various sections within the Embassy – commercial, political, projects, communications, consular and the corporate services. However, each intern will be assigned to two specific sectors: One, on commercial and trade issues under the direction of the Head of the Department of International Trade (DIT); and the other focusing on projects from the Embassy’s Bilateral Cooperation Fund, under the direction of the Head of Political Affairs, Projects and Communications.

The Embassy will provide valuable work experience for young Ecuadorean university students, and particularly those who are studying in fields of interest to the British Embassy. These include international relations,   development studies, human rights, international commerce, communication and economics.

The intern will carry out varied administrative tasks like reporting, organizing agendas, and assist in coordinating events or other special requests as needed.

Language: Spanish and English. Fluent both orally and in writing.

- Current student or recent graduate.

- Interest in trade and political issues.


Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities.

6 month Civil Contract

Monthly internship salary of US$400 + IESS contributions paid by the Embassy in full.

Appointment will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance.
