Please Note: This is a part-time position.

Main purpose of job:

To assist in the daily running of the High Commissioner’s Residence.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

-        To be present for service at all events at the Residence, setting and re-arranging tables and chairs inside and outside Residence, serving meal and drinks and clearance of tableware after all meals

-        Report maintenance jobs if any to Residence Manager every day, maintenance of table linen and linen room, cleaning and maintaining of drinks refrigerators and stock

-        Keep silver cutlery, crockery, Candelabra and other items polished and clean, ensure table linen is clean, ironed and starched for each event

-       Receive and see off visitors and houseguests – carry and place luggage in the rooms and assisting house guest with food, drinks, laundry and etc

-        to keep the Ambassador rooms clean and dusted to be responsible for guests rooms and ensure they are in top order for guests

-        To fully cover for other residence and house cleaning staffs when required as well as other had hoc related daily house keeping works

Language requirements: 

Language: English and Bangla

Level of language required: Good

Essential on arrival:

  • Experience of setting and waiting tables
  • Experience of general housekeeping tasks (including making beds/cleaning)
  • Good level of spoken and written English
  • Previous related experience required
  • Very well presented
  • Sense of pride in their work
  • High level of responsibility

Desirable:

Work experience in diplomatic or international organizations such as Embassies, AID agencies, guest houses, hotels and etc.

For other than BHC candidates, salary range will be BDT 15,007 per month.
