Security

Objective:

The British Embassy has a vacancy for a Female Security Officer to join the Security Team. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who have a high professional approach to the work and are willing to constantly learn.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing security of staff, visitors and premises at various locations as directed.
  • Liaising closely with security staff in other Missions within the complex.
  • Carrying out a physical check of female visitors.
  • Carrying out searches of all mail and any delivered items entering the complex.
  • Working within the Security Team Control Room, which includes operating and monitoring CCTV cameras.

  • Making Effective Decisions - Effectiveness      in being objective; using sound judgement, evidence and knowledge to      provide accurate, expert and professional advice.

  • Leading and      Communicating - Effectiveness in this area is about leading from the front and      communicating with clarity, conviction and enthusiasm. It’s about      supporting principles of fairness of opportunity for all and a dedication      to a diverse range of citizens.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in similar role.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Can work as an individual and within a team.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

Candidates will undergo and should pass the following:

  • Core Skills Test in English payable at the candidates’ expense
  • Multi-stage fitness test “bleep test” (subject to regular fitness testing throughout the year).

Working Hours and Remuneration:

Conditioned working hours are 48 hours gross per week. The Embassy is committed to ensuring that you are able to maintain a suitable work-life balance.

 

The British Embassy in Beirut offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package of 1339 $ for this role.

 

The successful candidate will be subject to a 90 day probationary period. The appointment is also subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.
