The British Embassy in Kyiv is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a full-time Post Security Manager.

The sucessful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day duties of the Embassy, its facilities, rented and owned apartments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Security Guards including rotation and cover; maintain a log of events/function and visitors; provide training to security guards, staff and spouses; maintain security equipment and liaise with the Regional Overseas Security Manager (ROSM)
  • Liaise with Security Contractors; organise additional staff when required and keep account of requirements for audit and payment.
  • Liaise with local security organisations including Diplomatic Police, Traffic Police, National Guard and Airport Security
  • Liaise with associated Diplomatic security managers.
  • Undertake additional duties in support of Embassy requirements.
  • Additionally, the PSM will support the Fire Safety Manager by testing fire and emergency alarms weekly. The PSM will also conduct emergency drills and in the event of an emergency alarm take responsibility for identifying the cause and resulting necessary action.
  • Completed Higher Education
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in field of security
  • A minimum of 2 years experience of staff management
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Flexibility & ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Advanced English, fluent Ukrainian and Russian
  • Relevant PC experience including MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
