View Vacancy - Arts Program Coordinator
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the development and delivery of new and existing Arts programs in the context of the current global economic, social and political climate.
- Contribute to raising the profile of British Council work in the Arts in the USA in order to demonstrate the relevance of the UK to the USA in the 21st century and contribute to the strengthening of the transatlantic relationship.
Contribute to the forging of new and the maintenance of existing partnerships and relationships, in order to increase the impact of British Council programs in the USA and across the region.
In line with British Council corporate policy:
- Work effectively with colleagues in the US and the region and the Arts team in the UK to develop and deliver new and existing Arts programs.
- Provide financial and administrative support to Head Arts Programs.
- Be responsible for capturing and communicating the impact and evaluation from feedback on program activities.
- Be responsible for procuring and managing internal and external resources for program activities.
- Ensure that all Arts activities are run to the highest professional standards.
- Identify and implement improvements to project delivery and share any successes and learning points with other colleagues and teams.
- Support the building of productive networks in the US.
Acquire and maintain an excellent and up to date level of sector knowledge.
- Previous experience of managing events.
- Previous administrative experience.
- Previous project management experience.
The jobholder must have an adaptable and energetic approach, with a willingness to learn and work flexibly across the whole Corporate Services Team, in areas outside of their core job, to help others at busy times, when there are vacancies and at other times of pressure. Portfolios and responsibilities can also be adjusted within the Corporate Services Team so the successful candidate will be one who is flexible and open to change and continuous improvement. All staff in the Corporate Services Team pick up ad hoc tasks and new work which may emerge unexpectedly and the jobholder will be expected to be part of this flexible approach and embrace new work enthusiastically.
