The British Embassy in Moscow is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for two Trade Advisers.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the United Kingdom Government’s international business development agency helping UK-based companies to succeed in the global economy. Its range of expert services is tailored to the needs of individual businesses to maximise their international success. It provides companies with knowledge, advice and practical support. DIT has identified Russia as a key market and the team seeks to deliver challenging targets to increase bilateral trade and investment. Currently, DIT has vacancies for 2 Trade Advisers, who will be based in Moscow, working collaboratively with colleagues in St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.

The main purpose of these roles will be to help UK companies make full use of the business opportunities emerging in the Russian Federation. The successful applicants will run projects to deliver significant business outcomes as follows: Position 1: the mining sector (one-year contract) and Position 2: Special Projects/Outreach campaign to Russia’s regions (maternity cover). As part of their work, they will be expected to achieve results within budget, meeting DIT’s corporate standards for quality of service and also business impact. The main deliverables associated to these project are:

-       a minimum of 12 Export Opportunities generated

-       a minimum of 12 Export Wins (£10 million) generated

-       a minimum of 100 Service Deliveries generated

-       a minimum of £8000 revenue for DIT’s OMIS (Overseas Market Introduction Survey)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build in-depth knowledge and keep up-to-date with developments in designated sectors;
  • Promote UK excellence in products and services;
  • Effectively and proactively develop appropriate networks and relationships with DIT London, Russian and UK business/trade associations and the private sector;
  • Establish strong working relationship with UK businesses;provide solutions to companies, answering their enquiries, and helping them develop their activities in the Russian market;
  • Organise and deliver a programme of business development projects/activities;
  • Organise business programmes for trade missions;
  • Deliver efficiency targets in accordance with DIT’s business plan; service deliveries, Export Wins, OMIS (Overseas Market Introduction Survey) revenue, case studies / success stories published.

 

  • Proficiency in English and Russian;
  • A proven record of engaging customers, stakeholders and partners;
  • Ability to analyse a wide range of information;
  • Clear and concise report writing.
  • For the mining sector position, industry-specific knowledge is not required, though would be an advantage.

These are two full-time temporary positions, for 5 working days, 35 hours net per week. One position is for a temporary position of one year to start on 6 July 2017 and end on 6 July 2018. The other temporary position is to cover a maternity leave; the expected start date is 6 July 2017 and will be terminated on the date that the current job-holder returns to work.

The monthly salary for this position is Rub 60,432 gross, A2 (L) level, paid 13 times a year.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
