Main purpose of job:
To assist the Estates Manager in ensuring that the furniture/maintenance stores are managed in an orderly manner and that all stocks are recorded correctly on a daily basis. They will be required to report back to the Estates Manager on any discrepancies throughout the month as well as complete monthly statistics on stock control measures.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
- Quarterly reconciliation, documentation and reporting in accordance with established procedures/systems
- Crosschecking and ensuring ‘Stores Movement’ records are kept up-to-date and accurately reflect items distributed/moved around the Estate (essentially between the stores and the residential properties); records must be filled in correctly and consistently, and all entries must correspond with instructions provided verbally or in writing
- Updating the Pyramid database, ensuring that all items logged on the store inventory reflect on Pyramid on a daily basis
- Arranging with incoming and outgoing officers that domestic floats are issued and returned within the stipulated timeframe and that all items are returned in the manner they were issued
- Assist the Accommodation Officer and Estates Manager with a 5 year rolling furniture programme
- Requisitioner and receiver of Goods and or Services using the Prism accounting package.
- Identifying and tracking surplus or old/obsolete items; preparing lists for such items to be weeded or earmarked for disposal/sale
- Reasonable supplementary duties assigned by the Corporate Service Managers or Heads of the department
- Line management of 1x Store Assistant
- Work experience in store management and inventories;
- Computer Literate
- Valid Driving Licence
The British High Commission pays 100% for the Key Care Plus option on Discovery Health for staff including spouses/partners and dependants.
Once you have successfully completed your probation the British High Commission will contribute 9% of your monthly salary to a Provident Fund.

Working hours per week of 36.5
This position will be based in Pretoria.
