The British Embassy in Stockholm is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Housekeeping Assistant to carry out household activities efficiently and effectively in the British Ambassador's Residence to a high quality standard. Following a schedule worked out with the Residence Manager.

Main responsibilities will include:

Regular duties- Household work

  • Cleaning including rooms, corridors, kitchen, internal stairs;
  • Stock taking of domestic cleaning supplies as well as assisting with routine inventory checks and updates to items in the Residence;
  • Working to a routine cleaning plan, daily, weekly, monthly tasks;
  • Assist in maintaining the Residence to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

 

Preparation for Events

  • Assist with preparation of official meetings and events; set up and refreshments;
  • Serving duties during receptions and tidying as necessary;
  • Assist in maintaining the Residence to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Support provided to the Residence Manager/Chef

  • Kitchen hand.
  • Good communication in English language both verbal and written;
  • Customer focus approach;
  • Willing to take initiative, flexible and proactive (“can do attitude”);
  • Ability to organise self and work effectively with other colleagues;
  • Ability to act with discretion at all times;
  • Good IT Skills – familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel);
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Good communication in Swedish;
  • At least 1 years experience in a similar role either in facilities management or the hospitality industry;
  • Provide a clear motivation letter.
