Main purpose of job:
The British Embassy in Mexico City is looking to recruit an Intern that will provide operational support to the LATAC International Market Team (IMT).
The LATAC International Market Team (IMT) is the Region’s universal entry point for UK businesses and serves as a frontline response to triage enquiries and connect companies with internal or external support, with the core aim to help UK firms win and expand their business in the region.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multicultural, and fascinating environment, in an important function. The jobholder will report to the LATAC IMT Adviser in Mexico City and support in handling the day-to-day operations.
We are looking for someone who is open to new ideas and ways of working, is capable of working with constantly changing priorities and managing a full workload in a multicultural and regional team. Experience of working in business and data management is desirable.
The intern should be quick, accurate and discreet. Key skills include being a good planner, able to juggle competing demands, switch between different functions, and be comfortable working at speed.

Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right at time of application.
The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, e.g. some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of 6 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.

Successful candidate will have access to some internal training and job shadowing, as well as the opportunity (depending on interest and availability) to work on cross-embassy teams or projects.

25 hour working week from Monday to Friday.
Expectation is to work under a hybrid model in line with Embassy’s policy (3 days working from the office).
