To provide high quality administrative and organisational support for the Ambassador to carry out her role effectively and efficiently. The jobholder will bring strong organisational skills to supporting the Ambassador’s work, liaise confidently with key stakeholders in the Government, diplomatic community and other partners, as well as playing a pivotal role in the Embassy to keep all staff well informed about the Ambassador’s schedule.  The jobholder will also provide IT support to all Embassy IT users.

Roles and responsibilities


- To be main contact point with key contacts especially government Ministries, for the Ambassador.
- Proactively manage Ambassador’s diary (in close liaison with Ambassador) and provide her high quality support for daily operations
- Manage the Embassy’s contacts database - ensuring it is up to date and can be used effectively in liaison with events leads to produce guest lists, arrange appointments, meetings, visits etc..
- Organise logistics for Provincial visits and other travel by the Ambassador
- Plan and manage (as required) Embassy events at the Ambassador’s Residence, and contribute to the successful running of the UK’s National Day (the Queen’s Birthday Party).
- Organisational support to design and deliver other Embassy events, visit programmes for senior visitors etc
- Ad hoc tasks, including crisis and general administrative support
- IT Support Officer role

  • Act as first point of contact for IT users - responsible for advice on use of systems.
  • Proactively maintain Embassy’s computer network and users’ access to it, reporting incidents and degradations in performance promptly to the UK Helpdesk.
  • Liaise with the UK Helpdesk to resolve IT issues at post and act as point of contact for technical visits.
  • Manage printer/ scanner groups, shared mailboxes and distribution lists.
  • Be responsible for IT Security Procedures including management of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review, procure, install, manage and maintain an inventory of all Embassy IT equipment.
  • Education to at least degree level, preferably in a subject relevant to the position
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (IELTS certification an advantage) and Khmer, including the ability to write reports
  • Good networking skills and be able to use MS Office packages routinely
