View Vacancy - Communications and Campaigns Assistant - Internship (PRT21.164)

The British Embassy in Lisbon is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. Currently, the Political and Prosperity Team is offering an internship of 6 months.
The intern will assist in the delivery of Embassy communications and campaigns, within the Political and Prosperity Team, provide general support to the Programme and Campaigns Officer and the Communications Team on the planning and implementation of physical and online projects and on UK participation in high profile events.
This internship will provide the successful candidate with a unique working experience at the level of Communications and Campaigns in International Diplomacy.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, monitoring and reporting of social media channels;
- Liaise with external partners in the preparation and implementation of digital campaigns;
- Prepare written and visual contents for digital platforms;
- Update media lists, support follow up activities and prepare clipping reports;
- Undertake events organisation and project implementation duties;
- Liaise with external partners and suppliers to ensure supervision of projects;
- Carry out monitoring and evaluation actions.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*);
- University degree in a relevant field;
- Some experience of organising events or activations;
- Knowledge of digital media channels and their metrics (strong analytical skills);
- An understanding of PR and media relations;
- Good communication skills, attention to detail;
- Good MS Office skills;
- Excellent time management and ability to perform to deadlines, capable of multitasking;
- Proactivity and dynamism, self-initiative and facility to work well in a team;
- Flexibility and personal resilience.
This is a full-time, 6 months internship contract for 5 working days (35 hours net) per week.
All staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Portugal are subject to local Portuguese employment law as well as internal regulations in force at any given time.
The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background and security clearance and must have pre-existing work authorisation for Portugal in order to apply.

The Embassy will not consider applications from existing staff who have not successfully completed their probation period or, in the case of staff on temporary contract who have not yet completed two thirds of their contract.
