Developing staff performance and capability (across team of 130+ people in 16 countries), to help take the UK government’s commercial work across Latin America & the Caribbean to the next level.  This will be done by creating, establishing and delivering a diverse and structured programme of activity and engagement, demonstrating key contribution to clear impact and results.

Roles and responsibilities:

Develop staff performance and capability through creating, establishing and delivering a diverse and structured programme of activity and engagement:

  • ‘Localisation’ of UK-led plan for staff engagement and development, drawing in key people around the network, including Country Heads of Trade & Investment.
  • Developing and delivering regional Learning & Development plan, including of accompanying budget and bidding process.
  • Establishing informative and inspiring induction for all new staff in region, aligned with HQ and utilising blended learning approach (including e learning, webinars and formal training).
  • Consistent approach to performance appraisal and objective setting.
  • Establishing and ensuring smooth running of bonus scheme.
  • Running active network of thematic Champions around 16 countries in which the Department of International Trade (DIT) has resource in region.
  • Internal webinars programme.
  • Liaising with the Diplomatic Academy Regional Team (DART) in Miami over regional training opportunities.
  • Internal communications, working with the Marketing Hub.
  • Managing staff and structure-related data and information.  
  • Specific projects work where relevant to staff.

 

Demonstrating key contribution to clear impact and results, including increased staff development, motivation and engagement.

  • Commitment to delivering results, proactive, self-starter, clear communicator.
  • English and Spanish fluency. 

**This position may be located any where DIT has an office across Latin America & the Caribbean (17 countries)**


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field. 
  • Experience of working with governance.
  • Workshop facilitation skills. 
  • Budget management experience.
  • Portuguese proficiency.
