Who are we?
The British Embassy in Podgorica, Montenegro is part of a world-wide network which represents British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a full-time Assistant to the HMRC Fiscal Crime Liaison Officer.
The main purpose of the job of local staff assistant to the HMRC Fiscal Crime Liaison Officer (FCLO) is supporting and assisting the FCLO in achieving their objectives as set by His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and in maintaining and strengthening the relationship between host agencies and HMRC.
This involves providing essential advisory, analytical and administrative support to the HMRC FCLO’s work in respect of the pursuit of criminal finances and other assets; and reducing threats to UK tax regimes from organised crime, tax avoidance and evasion.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract of 18 months with the possibility of renewal, for 40 working hours per week.
The successful appointment is subject to confirmation of a background check, security clearance and medical clearance.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Podgorica are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Montenegro employment law.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Montenegro and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
