MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Migration Projects Officer will work with the Migration Delivery Officer in New Delhi to support delivery of the India and Nepal Migration Programme. This programme consists of six projects intended to build institutional migration capacity in India and Nepal while supporting delivery the key UK migration objectives of tackling illegal immigration and increasing the return of those Indian and Nepali nationals in the UK illegally.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme and Project Management:
You will be expected to drive, oversee and monitor implementation of the Indian and Nepal Migration Programme, working closely with project partners and reporting regularly to the Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office on project delivery.
You will also be expected to develop new migration and returns projects, supporting the Migration Delivery Officer in preparing bids for funding.
Engagement:
You will be expected to develop and maintain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, utilising these relationships to ensure successful project delivery and achievement of UK migration and returns objectives in India and Nepal.
Development:
You will be responsible for your professional development, seeking and seizing opportunities that will enable you to carry out your role more effectively.
WHAT WE DO
We work as part of a multi-functional team tasked with delivering UK migration objectives in India and Nepal. This includes engaging with Indian and Nepali officials, providing policy and operational advice to the Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London, delivering migration and returns projects; and casework on Indian and Nepali immigration offenders and Foreign National Offenders in the UK.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
You should be proactive and organised, with a proven track record in project delivery. You should be a strong communicator with excellent written and spoken English, and be able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Most importantly, we want you to approach the role enthusiastically.
The role will entail regular travel within India and Nepal, and possible visits to the UK to support project delivery.
Experience delivering projects. Any applicants who do not evidence how they meet this requirement in their application will not be considered for interview.
Previous work experience in the field of migration.
SALARY PACKAGE
Length of Contract : 1 Year
For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. For other than British High Commission candidates, Salary will be Rs. 49635 per month together with a 12% provident fund and 6% Special Allowance.
