The British Embassy in Tunis is looking for a dynamic team player to take up the position of a Driver. The successful candidate will report directly to the Transport Manager.

Main purpose of job:

The successful applicant is responsible for providing a safe, efficient and effective service to Embassy staff and official visitors when required. This includes professional and safe driver services, an efficient messenger and administrative support. The Embassy driver is discreet, courteous, has strong customer skills and ensures the vehicle is always clean, in good running condition and regular maintenance schedules are followed.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for the Embassy official runs, providing transport for VIPs and visitors coming to the Embassy, taking UK and Local staff

• Responsible for the official courier service

• Take responsibility for ensuring that Embassy vehicles are clean

• Daily maintenance check of Vehicles

• Monitor and execute to transport manager official vehicles service plan

Delivering at Pace - Effectiveness in this area means focusing on delivering timely performance with energy and taking responsibility and accountability for quality outcomes.

• Holder of Valid Tunisian driving license D

• 5+ year’s professional driving experience

• Knowledge of locations, traffic rules and road safety in Tunis

• General car maintenance

• Able to work flexibly as required

• Good in English and Fluent in Arabic

• Displays personal integrity, honesty and discretion

• Previous employment with embassies or international organisations

• French language would be an advantage

Working hours and remuneration:

Conditioned working hours are 42 hours gross per week. Standard working hours are from 08:00-16:30 from Mondays to Thursdays and 08:00-13:00 on Fridays. Also, required to work out of working hours.

The British Embassy in Tunisia offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role. Initial salary will be TND 1,304 per month while on probation. Salary after probation is TND 1,647. This is a full-time, fixed for one year renewable.

The successful candidate will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.

The appointment will also be subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.

Eligibility:

Candidate must be eligible to work and reside in Tunisia immediately.
