Main purpose of job:

Drive staff or delegation to various appointments, events/functions and undertake general administrative duties as required by Transport and Logistics Officer/Analyst.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

Drive staff, delegation, officials and visitors as required. Drive Safely all times and respect local traffic laws and regulations. During official and VIP visits the driver should act as a Team Leader to the other hired drivers. Ensure that all passengers are properly seated and wearing seatbelts. Provide advice on best travel routes.  

Undertake general administrative duties as required. Undertake messengerial duties for pick up and drop off important official documents.

Maintain official vehicles and arrange regular servicing, maintenance, repairs cleaning, refuelling. Ensure that all official vehicles remain clean before and after every official journey. This is the responsibility of all official Drivers. Undertake daily inspections of the Embassy vehicles focusing on brakes, lights, oil, water, tire pressure and gas. Should anything be found to be unacceptable and not immediately fixable, the driver should bring it to the attention of the Transport Manager at their earliest opportunity.

Drivers must fully record and sign for each and every journey undertaken on the journey record sheet. These are to be kept on file for audit purposes. Whenever it is possible the passenger should sign for the trip.

The job holder should be a friendly and approachable face to staff and senior outsiders. They need to be keen to be part of a culture of excellence, respect and working together.

 

 

 


  • At least 5 years professional driving experience.
  • A valid professional driving license (in Brazil should be category B or D with EAR).
  • Strong communications skills. Making Effective Decisions. Willing to work out-of-office hours when required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

 


  • Experience in Office Administration
  • Ability to undertake duties with minimal supervision
  • Confident of facing the challenges and overcoming the problems.
