The British Embassy in Poland is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Policy Team Support Officer to provide administrative support to the British Embassy Warsaw’s Policy Team, covering Prosperity, Foreign Policy and EU issues, including organising visits and events, and to contribute to political reporting, according to priorities at the time.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide organisational and administrative support for Policy Team colleagues (e.g. organising meetings, managing event guest lists, informal translations, online filing, recording project spends etc);
  • Work with colleagues to organise Policy team events, including forums, roundtables and workshops;
  • Organise visits for UK Ministers and Senior Officials;
  • Research and write occasional reports on specific policy issues according to team priorities at the time.

  • University degree;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Good command of English and Polish;
  • Proven organisational, administrative and budget management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task and take on other duties as required;
  • Strong IT skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Previous experience in an international work environment.

This is a full-time position of 5 days (37.5 net per week) for a two year fixed-term contract which may be extended by mutual agreement.

The gross salary for this position is PLN 5,981 PLN gross per month. Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for agreed extra hours worked. The annual leave entitlement is 20 or 26 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Polish / UK public holidays per year.

Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by the local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to the Polish references check and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months.

Candidates must have pre-existing right to live and work in Poland for the duration of the job offer in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.
