Main purpose of job:

The Digital Content Producer will develop and produce high quality, engaging digital content, particularly video and graphic material for a range of social media platforms in support of regional and local communication campaigns in Latin America and the UK Overseas Territories.

The successful candidate will also provide input into campaign planning to ensure content is planned, designed and developed in a strategic manner taking into account platforms, target audiences and objectives.

They will also work directly with local communications teams to develop local content production skills and help advise on procurement of 3rd party providers where necessary.

This is an exciting role where creativity, proven digital content creation skills and political awareness can be combined to deliver engaging content reaching significant audiences on all FCDO digital channels.

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Digital Manager in Mexico City and will work closely with London and regional colleagues. 

 

Roles and responsibilities:

CONTENT PRODUCTION

• Work with colleagues in the region to develop and create high-quality original digital content including video, graphics, photography, tweets and other short form content, in support of key strategic objectives, tailored to different local needs across the Americas region

• Champion the use of story-telling techniques to enhance the impact and engagement of video content across the region.

• Work with the Head of Campaigns and Regional Digital Manager to ensure that campaigns are structured and planned to leverage and make best use of different digital platforms and formats to engage with the target audience.

• Use excellent Spanish language skills to localise English-language content ensuring the translated version maintains nuanced narrative consistent with the original messaging but tailored to generate positive response from local audiences.

• Assist local teams in procuring and briefing 3rd party suppliers for content creation, particularly videographers and photographers.

TRAINING & CAPABILITY

• Deliver training on content production skills and techniques, either remotely or occasionally face-to-face

• Monitor output from all local teams, capturing and sharing examples of best practice across the network and identifying teams who would benefit from further training or support.

PUBLISHING SUPPORT

• Provide resilience for central communication teams in London where work needs advancing or covering out of hours

• Provide publishing and editorial review support for local teams.

 

 

 

Essential on arrival:

• Strong video production and graphic design skills and an expert in Adobe Suite or Final Cut Pro, Kapwing and Canva.

• Experience taking briefs and ability to establish a clear and nuanced understanding of client needs whilst at the same time able to shape and guide those with lesser experience on the best way to develop digital content

• Strong attention to detail and proven editorial skills.

• An effective communicator with strong customer service skills and driven and able to deliver against challenging timelines

• Experience of dealing with and managing corporate brands

• Knowledge of the social media landscape in Latin America and how different social media channels are being used across the continent

• A creative individual who is able to develop and apply innovative ideas to international policy communications whilst maintaining the voice and integrity of a government organisation

• Knowledge of social media evaluation tools beyond native Twitter and Facebook analytics.

• Experience using Brandwatch or Newswhip would be valued

• Experience delivering training and/or designing training to be delivered by others
