To manage the Embassy Private Office.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
You will provide excellent support and advice to the Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission. Working with your A1 assistant you will ensure the efficient management of the Ambassador’s time to maximise delivery of the Embassy’s business plan, including through efficient diary management. This will include building and maintaining a wide range of external contacts across politics, business and the media. You will have excellent people skills and exceptionally high levels of personal organisation. You will be responsible for planning domestic and overseas travel, managing all aspects of visit programmes as well as having the relevant budgetary responsibilities. This is a great job for a dynamic self-starter. We are looking for someone who can run a busy office, ensure smooth management of the various administrative tasks, engage influentially with people inside and outside the organisation, make balanced judgements and offer sound strategic advice to the Ambassador and his Deputy. You will also contribute to the overall coordination of the Embassy’s crisis management arrangements. You will be able to draft minutes and correspondence quickly and accurately, manage a comprehensive contacts database and be heavily involved in the organisation of inward visits by VIPs as well as major Embassy events such as Remembrance Sunday and the Queen’s Birthday Party.
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced office environment
- Experience of working in government, in the UK or in another Embassy
