View Vacancy - Administrative Officer - Stategic Programs Royal Navy
Main Purpose of the Job:
The provision of administration support to Strategic Programs Royal Navy (SPRN), a small multi-disciplinary team comprising of Royal Navy, MoD civilian and contractor staff based within the US Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Headquarters in the Washington Navy Yard, Washington DC.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The SP5043 post will work directly for the SP5040, the Administration Team Leader. The post has responsibilities for:
Provision of administration support to SP5040 in the processing of visit requests, security clearances, data transmittals and maintaining internal databases.
Process classified and unclassified mail, including letters and reports, maintaining the security and transmittals filing system as appropriate and in accordance with JSP440, The Defence Manual of Security.
Provision of daily administration support to line management and desk officers in support of their day to day duties, including the answering, evaluating, and prioritising of telephone calls, voicemail, emails, and co-ordinating travel arrangements.
Maintain SPRN office stationery supplies, processing orders when required through an Office Depot account.
Any other administration tasks as directed by line management.
Language: Fluent English
Essential on arrival:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize, follow process and policy, and work under own initiative.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective liaison with UK and US partners and customers at all levels.
- Proficient IT skills with the ability to use with MS Office suite applications.
- Previous experience of working in an office or team environment.
- Previous experience of handling classified information.
Location. The position will work from the Strategic Systems Proram at Washington Navy Yard.
