The British Embassy in Tbilisi is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for an IT Change Manager.

BE Tbilisi is going through period of rapid change, with the arrival of a large number of new One HMG Partners and programme funded slots on the platform. This is a new role designed to ensure that the Post is able to offer an excellent service to partners and programme funded staff on our IT platform, in line with the new One HMG MOU.

The jobholder will be responsible for leading implementation of Tech Overhaul at Post, developing and leading a project to deliver Wifi at Post and ensuring we can deliver a fit for purpose Official Sensitive IT platform to new One HMG partners and programme funded slots. The jobholder will work with the General Services Officer and with the Second Secretary Political. The successful candidate will also need to develop excellent relationships with our STSOs and with the IT Helpdesk.

Employment will be subject to obtaining the appropriate security clearance. Please note that only nationals of the UK, EU countries, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are likely to be able to meet this requirement.  Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Work with Helpdesk and others to ensure we can deliver a fit for purpose Official Sensitive IT platform.
  • Work with KTD to deliver Tech Overhaul locally, ensuring Post gets maximum value for money.
  • Develop and lead a project to deliver Wi-fi at Post.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with an aptitude for delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines and adapting to changing aims.
  • Resilience, ability to deal with setbacks and continue to deliver despite numerous challenges.
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgement.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders/customers at all levels with confidence.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
  • IT skills and experience, while not essential, would be useful.
  • Some knowledge of the local language (Georgian) would be useful, but is not essential.

This is a part time fixed term position (40%) and the role is to be reviewed after one year, to identify whether it is still needed, particularly following the roll out of Tech Overhaul.

The monthly salary for this position is 1,293 GEL per month, A2 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check and security clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Tbilisi are subject to local Terms and Conditions of Service.
