We are looking for a pro-active, engaged individual with a passion for delivering development impacts. The job holder will have three main responsibilities:


Programme Delivery - assist in the management of the green finance sector portfolio, delivering each project objective in time, with VFM and with impact and supports delivery of the wider Programme objectives


  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving project delivery ensuring impact.
  • Reporting progress and project outcomes through regular meetings and informal conversations and ensuring learning is spread.
  • Monitor project activities tracking performance and mitigating risks
  • Support management of contract with the delivery partner, including the finance administration.   



Cross-Whitehall engagement –communication with the wider Brazil Network including DIT teams, ensuring programme opportunities for collaboration are developed and programme impact and wider learning is shared.


  • Develop Comms Strategies for the relevant projects with Embassy's & stakeholder's Comms Team.
  • Ensure programmes contribute toward policy delivery e.g. track of major policy events/high level visits.
  • Contribute to policy reviews.



Policy Delivery


  • Know and monitor the current business regulatory environment and development opportunities in the Green Finance sphere for Brazil, including opportunities for and barriers against the programmes objectives. Build relationships with key decision makers in Brazil’s government, civil society and private sector in support of these programmes, including leveraging diplomatic and senior engagement to drive forward regulatory and policy shifts in support of prosperity objectives. Provide reporting on your analysis. Coordinate with others in the Embassy and relevant government departments in London.
  • Contribute as needed to related work strands of the UK- Brazil Economic and Financial Dialogue (the annual high level ministerial led dialogue) working closely with Financial Services colleagues across the network and in London to ensure the policy dialogue delivers Green Finance programme and policy objectives.

 


Support development and implementation of project management tools and business models to improve performance.



Candidates need to have a university degree in International Relations, Economics, Environment, International Trade, Administration and Finance or other related-areas and minimum 3 years work experience on project management. A demonstrable track record of managing a portfolio of projects, experience of managing delivery partners and an understanding of climate finance/green finance development issues in Brazil/World. Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese are essential for this position.
Experience of policy work, a diverse network of contacts in government, business and civil society. A master’s degree, 5 years experience on project management and technical qualifications relating to climate finance/green finance. Readiness to start managing projects and fast learning capability are crucial to success.
