The British Embassy in Pragueis part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Housekeeping Assistant.
Main Purpose of Job
To ensure day-to-day running of the Ambassador’s Residence, keeping it clean and tidy. To wait on and look after Residence guests.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clean and tidy up the 3rd floor of the Ambassador’s Residence, regularly vacuum clean all carpets, clean parquet floors, and other necessary maintenance of the premises.
Look after silverware, china and glassware used at the Residence.
Order cleaning materials and light refreshment for the Residence; maintain stock records and replenish cleaning materials to the Ambassador’s flat. Once a month conduct a physical check of the stock.
Maintain the beverage stock, keep records of its consumption.
Wait on and attend to the Residence guests.
Prepare drinks and in cooperation with the Residence Chef propose table setting for official events (receptions, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and others as required), set tables and serve food and drinks to guests at all official events held at the Ambassador’s Residence; arrange furniture (incl. in the garden); welcome guests and prepare/clean the Residence before and after official events.
Look after guests staying in the guest-rooms and replenish refreshment and toiletries as required.
As a credit card holder, process the transactions electronically through a user-friendly system.
Assist with other work in the Ambassador’s Residence as required, whereas the above responsibilities/duties may be changed according to the Employer’s needs, however, always within the agreed type of work.
