Main purpose of job: The Digital Officer leads the Embassy’s social media strategy and digital content production and is responsible for ensuring the Embassy’s digital presence is engaging, professional, and aligned with the wider communications strategy. The Digital Officer works closely with the Head of Communications to maintain a coherent public voice across all platforms and deputises for the Head of Section when required.

What will you be expected to achieve? - Develop and implement the Embassy’s social media strategy in line with broader communications objectives.
- Manage and maintain the Embassy’s social media channels and its page on gov.uk, ensuring timely, relevant, and engaging content.
- Produce dynamic multimedia content, including graphics, short videos, and other digital assets at pace.
- Lead on digital campaigns and support coverage of Embassy events through live content and post-event promotion.
- Monitor digital engagement, analyze performance, and adjust content approaches based on insights.
- Ensure the Embassy’s digital output is visually consistent and on-brand.
- Work with the Head of Communications to ensure digital messaging aligns with traditional media output and with the Embassy’s strategic priorities.
- Deputize for the Head of Communications when needed, including managing day-to-day team coordination or representing the section.
- Stay informed on digital trends and emerging tools to continually improve the Embassy’s online presence.
