The British Embassy in Azerbaijan is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a permanent, part-time Cleaner based in Baku.

Main Purpose of Job:

To ensure the Embassy is clean and presentable at all times.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:             

  • Keeping the Embassy premises clean and tidy (hovering, dusting, replenishment of toiletries as required, deep cleaning when required);
  • Serving tea/coffee & refreshments for the Embassy visitors;
  • Monitoring and purchasing the cleaning items for the Embassy use;
  • Caring for the embassy electrical appliances and white goods (timely descaling, cleaning, notifying of the faults);
  • Caring for Embassy plants;
  • Cleaning and washing the float items;
  • Other duties as deemed operationally necessary by the line manager;

  • At least two years of experience in cleaning houses and /or offices;
  • Good customer service skills;
  • A good command of Azerbaijani is required; English would be most beneficial;
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and be able to work collaboratively with the Ambassador and other residents of the household as well as staff members;
  • Able to work accurately with focus on detail;
  • Good organisational skills;
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility;
  • Ability and willingness to work extra hours if needed compensated for with overtime payment;

  • Training on Food Hygiene;
  • Training on Health and Safety;
  • Intermediate English language skills;
  • Knowledge of Russian would be desirable;

This is a permanent, part-time position of five working days, 30 hours net per week. Working hours for 08.30 to 14.30, however, the job holder should have ability and willingness to work extra hours if needed compensated for with overtime payment.

The salary is USD 592,63 gross per month and shall be paid in AZN monthly.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service of the FCO according to local labour legislation.
