The British Embassy in Ankara is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas, and is now looking to hire a Senior Program Manager.

• To directly manage the British Embassy, Ankara, Bilateral Programme fund and work closely with other programme leads to maintain oversight of all Turkey network programme funds, to spot any overlaps, risks and opportunities for collaboration. 
• To co-ordinate with international donors and UK departments to ensure complementarity between projects. 
• To ensure projects have high visibility in both local Turkish media and in London. 5%.
• Direct line management of projects team 2 x Projects Officers, 1 x A2 admin support, encouraging high levels of motivation and performance.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To manage the British Embassy’s bilateral programme fund, including design and development of projects in line with the Embassy’s priorities and objectives in Turkey.  Ensuring projects deliver value for money, with good financial/budget management and flag up any risks with senior managers. 
• To lead and manage the Projects team effectively, delegating work and provide managerial oversight and guidance, ensuring projects are on track to deliver. 
• To broaden our range of contacts in the international donor, thinks-tanks, and NGO community through a regular programme of visits in and around Ankara and beyond as well as arranging roundtable meetings with key stakeholders at least biannually to identify new projects.
• To ensure projects have high visibility in London, across the Turkey network and publicly, through regular newsletters, promotion on social media channels and local media.  
• To also provide central oversight of all programme funds, to ensure projects are closely coordinated and complementary across the Turkey network and regularly provide overviews to senior management.

This is a temporary 2-year contract, full-time for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.

The annual salary for this position is 120,796.16 TL gross, C4 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.

The successfull candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of 2 months.
