Main purpose of job:

  • The Electrician will be working as part of a Maintenance team (Technical Work Group - TWG).
  • He/She is expected to carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), fault finding, installation and defect rectification throughout the estate to the highest professional standards conforming to the minimum standards of the 16th edition electrical regulations.
  • Must be conversant and knowledgeable with the use of test equipment.    
  • He/she will be expected to maintain the highest standards of health and safety in the work place at all times. 
  • Standards of workmanship are to be, at all times, beyond reproach.
  • Have the ability to work independently and without supervision and when called upon to work within a close team.
  • He/She must be a confident and precise communicator remaining calm in demanding situations.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of all One HMG  properties.- Ensure that all Electrical installations are carried out on One HMG Properties, conduct all electrical installation, inspection, tests and also check for  Electrical faults.
  • Re-wiring circuits  to meet the UK standards and specifications (Earthing, RCD’S, earth leakage in the main panels).
  • On call for emergencies outside of normal working hours 24/7 to respond to the call within one hour.
  • Liaise with electricity company as and when needed.
  • Purchase of correct electrical items for projects.
  • Working to correct health and safety and quality standards.
  • Carry out any other maintenance or administrative tasks required in support of the maintenance or projects teams.
  • Experience in Electrical testing, inspection, fault finding and rectification on a wide range of installation types (minimum 10 years experience).
  • Personal discipline.
  • Professional approach to duties.
  • Proactive team working.
  • Full in date Driving License (manual gearbox vehicles).
  • Good command of written and spoken English language.
  • Minimum 16th Edition Electrical Regulations certificate.
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of domestic appliances.
