The British Embassy Kyiv is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are recruiting an experienced IT Support Officer (ITSO) to be part of the Corporate Services Team.

The main purpose of the job is to be the first point of contact and support the Country-Based Staff (CBS) on IT and mobile phone systems, as well as any other administrative tasks that might arise.

Roles and main responsibilities:

  • Being the fist point of contact for Country-Based Staff in case of any IT-related issues and signpost them to the relevant solutions, including self service;

  • Administration of OFFICIAL IT Systems; phones systems and accounts; Distribution Lists and MS Teams as required; and of IT-related contracts with local service suppliers;

  • Set up and administration of IT for working desks;

  • Inventory of Post IT stock;

  • Procurement of office machinery and IT supplies;

  • Software updated and hardware upgrades for OFFICIAL IT systems and Locally Managed IT Systems;

  • Regular checks of IT operability in the Embassy premises;

  • Providing advice and making sure staff follows FCDO Security Operating Procedures and Acceptable Use Policy;

  • Administration of Mobile phones, including inventory control and supplier contracts;

  • Arranging  initial contracts for internet services at UKB residential accommodations;

  • Any other admin or IT ad-hoc tasks that could arise;

  • Resilience cover and support for wider Corporate Services Team.
  • Fluency at C1 level in English and Ukrainian according to CEFR framework*, or equivalent;

  • At least 2 years of experience in a System Administrator role;

  • IT literacy;

  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail;

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team;

  • Be resilient when working under pressure;

This is a full-time permanent contract, for 40 working hours per week including 1 hour per day for lunch.

British Embassy Kyiv will provide a full induction. The jobholder will have access to British Embassy Kyiv’s full learning and development offer, which includes the Foundation Programme in UK International Policy and Diplomacy and other related courses. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the role of an Embassy and international relations/diplomacy in Ukraine.
