View Vacancy - VNM (Hanoi) - Political, Economic and Development Intern
Main purpose of job:
The Political, Economic and Development Team of the British Embassy in Hanoi is responsible for reporting, analysis, lobbying and delivering project activities on issues that matter to both Vietnam and the UK. The team works across a wide range of areas, from maritime security to science and innovation, to human rights, and many in between. The job holder will gain insight into the breadth of UK-Vietnam cooperation by supporting across the team, with a focus on project delivery, communications, and events
You should be a dynamic and quick-learning individual with experience working in a multicultural environment. You should know how to prioritise tasks, quickly adapt to new and changing project settings, and collaborate well with others. We accept applications from all backgrounds though priority will be given to candidates with proven interest in development issues and diplomatic affairs.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
- Provide administrative and project management support to the team, including logistics, presentations, and working with suppliers;
- Support the development and delivery of team’s communications plan;
- Support reporting and research on political and development issues in Vietnam;
- Coordinate the Programme Board, including the preparation of quarterly board meetings.
- Strong organisational and research skills;
- Excellent analytical and communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability to work in changing environments and nature of projects;
- Demonstrated keen interest in working with numbers and data;
- Computer proficiency in standard software applications (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Project management experience;
- Relevant experiences in working at development agency, non-governmental organisation, or diplomatic mission.
