Main purpose of job:


Lead the regional Latin America & Caribbean High Value Campaign (HVC) for Financial and Professional Services (FPS) and develop business opportunities throughout Mexico for UK companies.   Build a pipeline of UK companies considering international expansion and proactively establish collaboration with financial institutions’ C-Suite execs. Manage an array of projects, build relationships with several British companies and Mexico based contacts to match UK capabilities with Mexican opportunities. Particularly focussing on FinTech, Asset Management, Insurance and Green Finance.


Roles and responsibilities:


  Lead the regional Latin America & Caribbean High Value Trade Campaign (HVC) for FPS (50%)


•Working closely with LATAC colleagues, provide Strategic leadership to the campaign ensuring alignment with country and regional strategies, with a focus on quality and delivery of outcomes across the region.


•Coordinate activity across the country teams participating in the HVC to deliver export and market access success for UK companies.


•Develop relationships with key stakeholders in DIT HQ and relevant UK and Mexican FPS organisations


• Be a strong communicator, particularly at senior levels, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Lead the LATAC FPS trade campaign team in line with Embassy values, contributing to the overall Embassy corporate objectives and ensure good financial, project and procurement management (25%)


Lead the DIT Financial Services (FS) contribution to the Prosperity Fund FS Programme Strategy (20%)


•Develop and deliver a programme of activity to support UK FPS companies to do more, and higher quality business in Mexico, including high-level visits, trade missions, and account management.


•Promote UK expertise in FPS sectors amongst local decision makers. Working with the Sector Team in London, promote business opportunities to UK industry.


•Source and strengthen a pipeline of UK opportunities across FPS, developing relationships with key stakeholders in the public and private sector.


•Working with UK companies, to overcome barriers to trade leveraging relationships with government and regulators.


•Working with the Prosperity Fund, seek opportunities to deliver commercial benefits for the UK, inform and influence the focus of the programmes.


•Contribute to the effective functioning of the Embassy Financial Services Virtual Team.


    


Essential on arrival: Account management, excellent stakeholder management skills and project management.


A BA degree in business or a related field. At least four years of relevant work experience with the financial sector. A solid understanding of Mexico’s financial institutions.


 


Desirable: Experience of engagement with senior (C suite) officials at financial institutions.
