Main purpose of job:
This post is a key part of the UK Government’s Science and Innovation Network in India team. The job holder will support the whole team including through managing budgets, policy reporting and providing support for projects and events.
What we do
The Science and Innovation Network is a global network of science attaches based Embassies and High Commissions. The primary aim of our Network in India is to build UK-Indian research collaboration and technological innovation. India is a priority country for the UK Government and is home to one of the biggest Science and Innovation teams globally.
Roles and responsibilities
Job holder will be a key player in a dynamic team. Responsibilities would be to:
- Provide administrative and financial management support to the team ensuring the successful delivery and implementation of projects and events.
- Work with colleagues ensure successful programmes for senior visitors.
- Support colleagues project managing events such as workshops, receptions and conferences.
- Contribute to Science and Innovation policy reporting.
- Contribute to the delivery of Science and Innovation communications strategy including through use of digital media.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Confident with IT solutions, including MS Office and well versed in excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal, written, negotiation).
- Excellent attention to detail and planning skills.
- The ability to deliver results under pressure.
- The ability to work quickly and reliably with attention to detail and with limited supervision.
- 2 years of experience in similar role.
- The incumbent should be well organised, ambitious and willing to learn.
For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. For other than British High Commission candidates, Salary will be Rs. 34,684 per month together with a 12% provident fund and 6% Special Allowance.
