Main purpose of job:

To provide support primarily to the Consul General in the role of Executive Assistant; to support the corporate service needs of the office as Office Manager; and to support the Media & Public Affairs Officer with events and visits.

Executive Assistant to Consul General (50%)

Managing diary; arranging travel; scheduling meetings and teleconferences; maintaining contacts databases; preparing official correspondence; preparing background material for meetings; reconciling expenses; monitoring and reporting on the BCG budget.

Corporate Services support (25%)

Managing the BCG office and CG’s residence including coordinating maintenance with building management and Ottawa, liaising with suppliers and vendors who need to access the office or residence, ordering office supplies, and management of mail services. Acting as IT contact for technical upgrades and minor maintenance. Acting as Deputy Post-Security Officer.

Event Management and Special Projects (25%)

Assist the MPA Officer on planning events for the consulate. Provide administrative and logistical support such as sending invitations, tracking responses, and coordinating contracts with suppliers as requested by the MPA officer. Support on programmes for incoming official visitors. Provide research and assistance on DIT and SIN projects as directed by the Consul General.




  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years work experience or combination of education and work experience.
