View Vacancy - Residence Intern, Mexico City
Main purpose of job:

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
- Support the Residence Team & the Residence Manager with administrative tasks.
- Support the Ambassador’s family when necessary.
- Keep the Residence Calendars up to date (Word document & Outlook).
- Assisting with responding to general enquiries.
- Support the section with monthly reports and logs.
- Help maintain clear, accurate and auditable files, records and inventories.
- Provide administrative support for events and high-level visits:
- Representational elements for events (placement cards, menus, table arrangement).
- Support the Residence Manager with official invitations and guest lists.
- Direct contact with suppliers to ensure professional and accessible service for events and day to day service.
- Direct contact with the Estates Team to keep the maintenance programme of the Residence up to date (word document and Outlook calendar).
- Work closely with the Ambassador’s Private Office.
- Work with other Embassy’s sections to liaise details for events and visits.
- Organising, maintaining and updating the information stored on MS Teams.
- Once experience has been gained, to lead on official events and visits and lead the Residence Team.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Please note that the Residence staff don’t have access to firecrest computers and most of them don’t speak English, so we will need your kind support in the following points:
- Intermediate between Embassy’s internal communication and Residence staff.
- Translation of documents and communications.
- Support the team to fill in documents in the computer.
- Keep a log with the pending tasks of the Residence team.

- A proactive, detail-oriented attitude
- Must have the right to live and work in Mexico
Desirable:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Currently studying the last semester of a Bachelor’s degree or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations/Business, Communications, Administration, Tourism, Social Work or any other relevant degree.

Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right. The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Working patterns:
5 hours a day during weekdays
3 days working from the British Residence and 2 days working from home
Monday – Friday
Available timetables (negotiable):
a)09:00-14:00
b)10:00-15:00
